What Is Community at Risk?
Community at Risk is a ministry designed to give dignity back to the communities in Northern Uganda, restore the family unit, and teach sustainable living. The desire is to teach each person that God can bless you where you are and allow you to contribute to your nation with what God gave you.
Why?
Many people leave this area because they are seeking a "better life" in the city. When they get to the city, the find there is little or no work and end up in the slums. We want to show them that there is a way to make a living in their homes and keep the families together.
How Does It Work?
Through a community farming project involving small banana and cacao plots, these families can be self-supporting FOR LIFE in 4-5 years. They are discipled in work skills, as well as spiritually. The family unit is as much the goal as the family income.
